Detalles de producto
- In the second book of his autobiographical quintet, Pantry - An Escape, Thomas Bernhard tells the story of his rejection of the path ahead of him. The promising high school student, from whom much is expected, has only two options: either he will try to put up with this petty-bourgeois education system, which is against all his desires and dreams, and eventually commit suicide, or he will disappoint all expectations and go in the opposite direction. One morning, on his way to school, he suddenly turns back and starts an apprenticeship at a grocery store in his poor neighborhood. The story of your refusal to be shaped and raised, your struggle to choose your own path.In this work, Bernhard begins to give clues about how to lay the stones of being a great writer. We see how colorful and diverse his world has gained by adding the life experience he gained during his apprenticeship to the knowledge of theory and philosophy he learned from his grandfather. Thomas Bernhard, (1931-1989) Born in the Netherlands and raised in Austria, Bernhard was raised as an artist by his grandfather, the writer Johannes Freumbichler. He attended primary school in Seekirchen, and while he was continuing his secondary education at various schools in Salzburg, he left his education and started his apprenticeship in 1947. Due to the respiratory diseases he suffered throughout his youth, he was admitted to a sanatorium for two years in 1949. In 1952, while continuing his music education at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, he worked as a reporter for the Demokratisches Volksblatt newspaper. After 1957, he earned his living mainly from writing. After living in England and various European countries, he returned to Austria in 1965. Other books of Bernhard's autobiographical quintet, which has received many awards and many of his works have been translated into Turkish, will also be published by our publishing house. Show more
